It has good welding quality, fast speed and high efficiency, can reduce the amount of scrap and reduce the loss of components. It is welded firmly and the properties of the welded parts are the same as those of the base material. Parameters can be set accurately and the flash evenly distributes temperature, thus improving product quality and uniformity.
1. Flash welding process Flash welding is a resistance welding process. The solid joint is composed of the base material without any filler metal. The billet is reliably clamped to the conductive electrode. On, flash welding is achieved through low voltage and high current.
2. Flash. Flash welding includes two main stages: flash and upsetting. After the billet passes through the heating furnace, no preheating is required. Flashing starts after the head and tail of the billet are aligned. The control system ensures that the flash evenly covers the end of the billet and avoids excessive flash. This ensures the welding quality and prevents voids and inclusions in the welding part. The flash continues for a preset time, and liquid metal and plastic rings are generated at the end of the billet, which is then upturned.
3. Upsetting Upsetting is performed immediately after the flash stage, that is, pressure is applied to the welding area to remove oxides, and weld burrs are formed around the welding area after welding. Weld burrs need to be removed to avoid surface defects during rolling.
4. Welding quality Proper flash welding is of very high quality and the properties of the welded joint are identical to those of the base material. In fact, subsequent heat treatment or machining will cause the solder joint to disappear. During flashing, typically 510~715 mm of metal is lost at each end of the billet, so the ends of the billet do not need to be processed before welding, and rough and oxidized surfaces can be welded well. Flashing and upsetting are important to remove all inclusions and other impurities from the surface of the billet. The final solder joint consists of a solid metal matrix at a certain distance from the original flash surface.
