Austenitic stainless steel is the main type of stainless steel, with production and usage accounting for about 70% of the total. Compared with ordinary steel types, it has excellent high-temperature strength, fatigue strength and corrosion resistance, so it is widely used.

Since its resistivity is larger than that of low carbon steel and its thermal conductivity is smaller than that of low carbon steel, it is advisable to use parameters with high current and short time. The welding time can be 40% to 50% shorter than that of low carbon steel plates of the same thickness. 2. Because the linear expansion coefficient of austenitic stainless steel is about 50% greater than that of carbon steel, it is easy to deform. Work equipment should be used to strengthen positioning. At the same time, a smaller nugget diameter should be used. It is generally recommended that it be no more than 4 times the plate thickness. If the strength still cannot meet the requirements, the number of welding points can be increased. 3. When spot welding austenitic stainless steel with a plate thickness greater than 3 mm, the multi-pulse current method of a medium-frequency spot welder should be used for welding.
