The resistance of the workpiece depends on its own resistivity, so resistivity is an important property of the material to be welded. When spot welding stainless steel, it is easy to generate heat but difficult to dissipate heat, so it can be welded with a low current of several thousand amperes. When spot welding aluminum alloy, it is difficult to generate heat but dissipate heat quickly, so it requires a high current of tens of thousands amperes to weld. However, resistance butt welding is easier and has less impact.
